Tat-Fit™ is a palatable formulation of tamoxifen consisting of taste-masked micropellets.
The product is tasteless and odourless, so can be effectively dosed in mouse feed.
Tat-Fit™ utilizes our proprietary MicroCoat® technology, in which tamoxifen is spray-layered onto inert micro-pellet cores and encapsulated with a taste-masking membrane. This design minimises oral release and taste aversion in mice.
After ingestion, the membrane dissolves in the stomach, releasing tamoxifen for efficient absorption and reliable Cre recombination.
Tat-Fit™ tamoxifen micro-pellets can be simply mixed into standard rodent feed, allowing tamoxifen to be delivered through the regular mouse diet.
Tat-Fit™ applies our proprietary MicroCoat® technology, where tamoxifen is spray-layered onto inert micro-pellet cores and coated with a taste-masking membrane to prevent tamoxifen release in the oral cavity of the mouse.
These micro-pellets can be simply mixed into standard rodent feed, allowing tamoxifen to be delivered through the regular mouse diet.
Once the micro-pellets reached the stomach of the mouse, the taste-masking coating dissolves, releasing tamoxifen to ensure absorption and effective Cre recombination.
Tamoxifen is widely used in transgenic mouse models to induce Cre recombinase activity and achieve conditional gene knockouts. Traditional administration methods – such as oral gavage and intraperitoneal injection are invasive, often causing pain, stress, and variability in experimental outcomes.
Tat-Fit™ is designed to improve tamoxifen dosing, animal welfare and support the principles of the 3Rs (Replacement, Refinement and Reduction) in animal research.
Tat-Fit™ eliminates the need for animal handling (i.e. oral gavage and injection) during dosing, significantly reducing pain/stress and improving animal welfare.
Unlike traditional tamoxifen diets that are unpalatable, Tat-Fit™ is fully taste-masked, ensuring normal feeding behaviour, stable mouse body weight, and consistent tamoxifen intake.
By enabling consistent, voluntary dosing, Tat-Fit™ helps reduce data variability and the number of animals required per study.
Tat-Fit™ has been successfully evaluated by leading universities and research centres.
Its stress-free and consistent dosing produces reliable gene activation.
Cre-recombination efficiency of Tat-Fit™ is comparable to oral gavage and intraperitoneal injection.
